7th Annual MN Breastfeeding Coalition Statewide Meeting: Advocacy in Action

The 7th Annual Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition (MBC) Statewide Meeting is a day-long event on Tuesday, September 30th that will bring together breastfeeding advocates from around the state. Our theme this year is Advocacy in Action, and we will learn from experts and those experienced in advocating for breastfeeding in our hospitals, workplaces, legislature, and state Health Department. • Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. (meeting begins promptly at 8:30 a.m).
• Babies in arms are always welcome; a lactation room will be available.
• Light breakfast, lunch and snacks are included with the registration fee.
• CEUs will be available.
• To keep fees low handouts for downloading and printing will be made available on the website before the Meeting and Workshop. You will receive an email when materials are available.

Pre-conference Workshop: MotherBaby 10- Implementing the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding

This workshop for maternity center staff is being offered on Monday, September 29th from 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. It will be an interactive workshop with panel presentations, discussion, and "train-the-trainer" skill building sessions provided by individuals experienced in implementing the Ten Steps. • Lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee.

Hotel rooms are available at Country Inn and Suites, 3505 Vadnais Center Drive in Saint Paul, MN 55110. There are Single or double occupancy rooms for $87+tax per night for Sunday and Monday. Breakfast is included and the hotel provides shuttle service and has a pool. Reserve your room before September 11, 2014 by calling 651-483-1625 and mentioning the MBC room block.

An optional dinner outing for those interested in networking with other professionals passionate about breasetfeeding is planned for September 29th, Monday night, 6:00 p.m., at a nearby location (to be determined). RSVP by September 20, 2014 by selecting the appropriate box when registering. Each is to pay for their own meal.

Please note, processing fees are being split between the MBC and participants and are in addition to the Annual Meeting and Workshop registration fee. Refunds are available until Sept. 20, 2014 for either the Annual Meeting or Workshop if you are unable to attend. Please email mnbreastfeedingcoalition@gmail.com by this date to request a refund.
